The announcement was made following a meeting attended by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Minister of Social Security, Women, and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur. The meeting also included the presence of Special Chief Secretary of Social Security, Women, and Child Development, Rajiv P. Srivastava; Director of the Women and Child Development Department, Dr. Sheena Aggarwal; Principal Secretary of Finance, Ajoy Kumar Sinha; Deputy Director Amarjeet Singh Bhullar; and Special Secretary Vimmi Bhullar.

In addition to this, the Punjab government has made a landmark decision regarding the regularization of contract teachers. The government announced the regularization of 14,239 contract teachers across the state. This move aims to provide job security and stability to thousands of teachers who have been working on a contractual basis for years.

Furthermore, the Punjab government has also decided to bolster the healthcare sector with new recruitments. Under this initiative, 1,880 doctors and nurses will be hired to enhance the healthcare services in the state. This recruitment drive is expected to address the shortage of medical staff and improve the overall quality of healthcare in Punjab.

These decisions highlight the Punjab government's dedication to social welfare and improving public services, ensuring that the needs of diverse communities within the state are met effectively.
